The police spokesperson, Thandi Mbambo, says the building has been closed for the decontamination process to take place. She adds that the officers who have been in contact with the affected officer have been subjected to necessary related Covid-19 protocols.

This follows after OFM News reported last week that the Odendaalsrus Police Station has been shut down after an officer tested positive for Covid-19.

Mbambo says the community will be serviced from a mobile police station placed outside the Odendaalsrus police station. She adds that the community will be informed once the station is operational again. She says the acting Provincial Commissioner, Solly Lesia, apologises for any inconveniences caused by this closure.
