This after it was forced to shut down for decontamination following a confirmed positive case of coronavirus on Monday morning. The provincial spokesperson for the Department of Justice and Constitutional Development, Joseph Makutle, confirms to OFM News that the court is been operational since Thursday. This means that all cases on the court roll that were accordingly postponed will continue again.

The Rustenburg Magistrate's Court is amongst government institutions in the province that continues to suffer ripple effects from the surge of Covid-19 infections. 

OFM News in early June reported that the Klerksdorp Magistrate's Court was also shut down after a few officials tested positive for Covid-19. Rustenburg and Klerksdorp are the two cities in the province in local municipalities with a high rate of infections.
