#CoronavirusNW: Residents urged to be cautious─── KATLEHO MORAPELA 09:16 Sat, 18 Jul 2020
North West communities are urged to social distance and adhere to all Covid-19 regulations.
This, as the number of active cases in the province now stands at 9 980 after 48 deaths and 2 694 recoveries were recorded.
Health MEC, Madoda Sambatha, says the number of positive cases in the province’s Bojanala and Dr Kenneth Kaunda districts are growing at a fast pace, and the only way to flatten the curve is to abide by the lockdown regulations.
Sambatha is encouraging residents in the two districts, which are the province’s epicentres, as well as the rest of the province to wear a mask, wash hands regularly and keep a safe social distance.
OFM News previously reported that a number of politicians in the province have tested positive for Covid-19, including Premier Job Mokgoro.
Health Minister, Zweli Mkhize, on Friday announced that the total number of active cases in the country now stands at 154 652 after 4 804 deaths and 178 183 recoveries were recorded nationally.
