Two Bfn schools confirm #Covid19 cases─── KATLEHO MORAPELA 08:09 Sun, 19 Jul 2020
The St Michael's School for Girls in Bloemfontein in the Free State confirms two more Covid-19 positive cases.
This came after Willem Postma Primary School in Bloemfontein also announced the temporary closure of its school after a Grade 4 learner tested positive.
The principal of St Michael's School for Girls, Braam van Wyk, in a letter addressed to parents says a Grade 11 learner and a Grade R pupil have tested positive for the virus and the school will remain shut for the next two days for decontamination.
These two cases come just days after OFM News reported on a Covid-19 positive case of a Grade 2 pupil at the school.
Van Wyk says whilst the Grade 11 class is only expected back at the school on July 27, classes for other grades will resume on Wednesday, July 22. He explains the learners who were infected contracted the virus from family members and to date it has not been traced back to the school.
Meanwhile, Willem Postma Primary School is expected to re-open its doors on Wednesday for Group 2 and on Thursday for the first group.
The province now has 9 004 positive cases, with 47 deaths and 1 033 recoveries.
