Power utility, Centlec, says power will be interrupted due to maintenance upgrades on the network.

Centlec spokesperson, Lele Mamatu, adds power will be interrupted from 9am until 4pm. The areas that will be affected include Sputnik Avenue, Michel Street and Balliteer Avenue.

Mamatu warns power may be restored without notice after the shutdown period, saying residents must therefore treat all outlets as live and dangerous.

He says “this is part of Centlec’s program to ensure services are maintained, including infrastructure, to minimize unplanned power outages due to issues such as overloading.”
