Baby kidnapped at Bfn clinic | News Article

A two-month-old baby boy was kidnapped by a female patient at the Bloemspruit Clinic in Bloemfontein in the Free State.

Police spokesperson, Motantsi Makhele, tells OFM News that the police have since launched a manhunt for an unknown woman after she took Bokang King at the clinic on Saturday, 1 August.

He says according to information at their disposal, it is alleged the kidnapper was asked by the mother of the baby, Kgomotso King (18),  to momentarily hold Bokang while she fetched her medication.

This, after the suspect told King that babies were not allowed inside the clinic.

The suspected woman is said to have disappeared with the baby before the mother could return to fetch Bokang.

Makhele adds that King did not inform the police or the clinic when the incident occurred. She only reported the matter to police after 22:00 that night.

Makhele further adds that a case of kidnapping has been registered with the Bloemfontein police for further investigation.

He is urging residents or anyone with information to contact Warrant Officer Corné van Zyl at 083 456 5653 or contact the crime stop number at 086 10111, or alternatively send information via the mysaps app.
