The Minister of Basic Education, Angie Motshekga, will be visiting the North West province to monitor schools today. She will be joined by the province's Education MEC, Mmaphefo Matsemela.
Motshekga's spokesperson, Hope Mokgatlhe, says they will be visiting the Eletsa and the Tshepagalang Secondary Schools, both in the Letlhabile Township near Brits. She says the visits is to monitor the return of grade 12 learners and compliance towards the Covid-19 regulations. She further says this follows a one week break for the grade 12 learners that was taken due to the rapid spread of Covid-19.
OFM reports that Matsemela visited the Moedwil Combined School near Swartruggens yesterday to monitor the way the school is operating in terms of implementing the Standard Operating Procedures to prevent Covid-19 from spreading and she was satisfied.
OFM News reported at least 37 000 Grade 12 school pupils in this province were expected to head back to schools yesterday.
