Efforts to oust the mayor of the Free State's embattled Mangaung Metro Municipality, Olly Mlamleli, continues.

This, as the minority opposition party, the Freedom Front Plus, has filed a motion of no confidence against her on Thursday. The motion is submitted by the councillor of the party, Adriaan de Bruyn, and it was seconded by this party's councillor, Elizabeth Snyman-Van Deventer. The party says their motion is based on evidence from complaints of the residents of Mangaung Metro Municipality about the lack of service delivery, the negative image of the metro in the media following her bad governance, and the Auditor-General’s reports.

This is the third motion of no confidence filed against Mlamleli following two that were filed by the Democratic Alliance (DA) last year and early this year. The first motion was set aside and Mlamleli survived the second vote of no confidence during a council sitting in March this year.
