The Justice League Virtual Run Series is bringing familiar faces in Central South Africa - dressed in superhero costumes - on board to help raise funds for children who suffer in their early development stages.

Mr Central South Africa 2019, JP Jansen, spoke to OFM News about his involvement in the initiative and how he also overcame health issues as a child.

He says this will be his second virtual run, together with his friend, Jordan Nadasen.

Bloemfontein runners will get together on Sunday at Vida Preller Bloemfontein from 8am until 11am with the theme being Wonder Woman in celebration of Women’s Month.

‘’I was a premature baby myself, so this has actually touched base for me. The doctors told my parents that I wouldn’t live long and that I would live up to 4 or 5 years... Speaking now, today is my 30th birthday and I’ve come this far..." said Jansen.

He owed this to good nutrition.

Jansen says that at the previous event he managed to run just under 5 km and says that this month he will challenge himself to finish.

The public is yet again encouraged to enter on www.justiceleagueseries.co.za/buy-tic, visit @JLRunSeries on Twitter or Instagram and follow the event with #JusticeLeague.
