This according to the police’s Karen Peters who announced the provincial crime statistics of the financial year 2019/2020 on Tuesday. According to Peters, attempted sexual offences increased by 24.0% in the past financial year – bringing it to the highest total since the 2012/2013 year.

In light of the announcement, Premier Zamani Saul asks that all communities should join hands with the government in the fight against crime - especially violence against women and children.

According to statistics, Galashewe in the capital of Kimberley, is one of the areas of where most attempted sexual offences were committed in the province. They recorded an increase of 53.3% from the previous year.
