NW to release crime stats─── LUCKY NKUYANE 06:39 Thu, 13 Aug 2020
The North West MEC for Community Safety and Transport Management, Sello Lehari, is expected to reveal the much anticipated provincial crime statistics on Thursday.
The crime statistics represent the period from April 1, 2019, to the end of March 2020.
Crimes, such as murder, rape, and robbery, are expected to be at the centre of focus during the release of these stats.
The province has previously made numerous reports on various crimes which include gender-based violence (GBV) against women, farm attacks, house robberies, and assault with the intent to do grievous bodily harm, among others.
Lehari is expected to be accompanied by South African Police Services' (SAPS) Provincial Commissioner, Sello Kwena.
The address will start around 14:00 at the Disaster Management Centre.
This comes a few weeks after police minister, Bheki Cele, released the national crime stats.
