Three suspects arrested for being in possession of alleged illegal explosives are set to appear in a North West court soon.
The trio, from Thembisa in Gauteng, will appear in the Rustenburg Magistrate court on Monday, 24 August 2020, for formal bail application.
According to police spokesperson, Elsabe Augoustides, they were arrested on 14 August 2020 when authorities conducted a stop-and-search at about 18:30. Marikana police stopped a vehicle occupied by two men and a woman.
Augoustides says the police found six V8 blasting cartridges and one shock tube assembly in the vehicle, and the suspects could allegedly not account for why the explosives were in their possession.
