The Health Minister Zweli Mkhize tweeted the latest NICD statistics which states that 13 new deaths have been recorded in the province, bringing its toll to 537. According to these statistics, the province now stands at 32 593 confirmed cases with at least 289 new cases. At least 17 547 patients have recovered from the virus in the province.  

The Provincial Health Department's spokesperson, Mondli Mvambi, confirms that the highest number of deaths recorded comes from the Lejweleputswa Local Municipality, which includes the Matjhabeng and Nala Districts, amongst others. He explains that the provincial case fatality rate is 1.6%, with common fatalities being men. He says more females are infected with the virus than men.
