NW dagga peddler remains behind bars─── MARVIN NTSANE 15:23 Wed, 26 Aug 2020
The 34-year-old man arrested for dagga estimated to be worth R2.2 million made a brief appearance before the Orkney Magistrate's Court in North West on Wednesday.
The provincial police spokeswoman, Adele Myburgh, says Tseliso Moejane’s case has been postponed to 31 August 2020, and he will remain in custody.
OFM News earlier reported he was arrested on Tuesday during a roadblock held by the police, members of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) and Provincial Traffic officers on the R30 road between Klerksdorp and Orkney.
Myburgh told OFM News that the suspect was driving a vehicle with Lesotho registration number plates when he was pulled off.
She stated that during the search the police found bags of dagga weighing 230 kilograms stashed in the boot, on the back seat, and in the spare wheel compartment. She said the suspect was immediately arrested.
