Provincial Hawks spokesperson, Nomthandazo Mnisi, confirmed that he is suspected of orchestrating an armed robbery at the Windsorton Police Station in the Northern Cape, and at a filling station in Virginia near Welkom.

In the latter incident, one victim was wounded and several others were robbed of their personal belongings.

The three accomplices have since also been arrested and remain in custody.

The latest arrest comes after the suspect’s picture was circulated in the media on Tuesday.

Mnisi said the Hawks extend their appreciation to the media and members of the public for the assistance in the apprehension of the suspect within 24 hours.
