The Education Department spokesperson, Howard Ndaba, says parents and guardians are urged to apply with time to spare, to avoid a rush for the next academic year, as the application period will close in October.

He emphasises that the admission at schools are based on first-come-first-serve. Ndaba says the process is for children starting Grade R, Grade 1, Grade 8 and those changing schools.  He adds application forms are available at all schools

Ndaba says: “Learners seeking to be at various schools in different grades will be admitted also according to the age requirements and should produce the following documents as proof: Birth Certificate, Parent's Identity Document and Citizenship, School Report, Guardianship documents, Immunization Cards and Proof of sibling relationship if needed.”
