According to police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Dimakatso Mooi, the bodies of the couple, aged 67 and 57, were discovered in a veld on Thursday. They had visible wounds and marks that suggested they had been dragged behind a vehicle to where they were found.

The man was arrested on the same day. The case was postponed to 7 September for his bail application.

Mooi said police were still investigating and anyone with more information about this incident was requested to contact Lieutenant Colonel Myburgh on 082 495 4584. All information will be treated as strictly confidential, Mooi said.
