The pair, aged 24 and 31, were arrested yesterday in possession of an undisclosed amount of cash and two cell phones stolen from the post office.

Provincial police spokesperson, Motantsi Makhele, says according to the Post Master the incident took place shortly after the post office was forced to temporarily close due to load-shedding.

Makhele, in a statement, explains "at about 13:00 the Post Master went outside to the parking lot to his private vehicle and when he came back to open the main door he was allegedly confronted by an unknown man. The suspect pointed a pistol at him, pushed him inside the building, and four more men joined them. The suspects allegedly pushed him and the rest of his staff into the strong room safe and demanded cash".

He says the five suspects thereafter fled the scene with money and two cell phones.

Three other suspects involved in the business robbery are still on the run and investigations continue.
