NC farm attackers expected in court─── MARVIN NTSANE 12:50 Thu, 03 Sep 2020
The five suspects accused of the kidnapping and triple murder of three family members in Hartswater in the Northern Cape are expected to be back in the Local Magistrate's Court on Thursday.
The group was arrested on 28 July for allegedly attacking and murdering the Brand family at their house on their smallholding on 26 July 2020.
OFM News reported the body of the couple's daughter, Elzabie Brand, was discovered in a field in Taung. Shortly thereafter the bodies of the elderly couple Danie and Breggie Brand were also found in the Takaneng Village near Taung in the North West a few days after they were reported missing by another family member.
This is the group’s third court appearance after several postponements. OFM News previously reported that the Northern Cape police spokesperson, Mohale Ramatseba, said one of the accused, a forty-year-old woman Kgomotso Mpumlwana, is expected to be the only one applying for bail.
The four other suspects - Realeboga Manyedi (19), Tshepaone Melato(19), Donald Seolesang(20), and Tshepo Visagie(36), are expected to abandon their bail applications.
