The Setsoto Local Municipality building located in Senekal in the Free State has been closed due to a coronavirus case.
The executive mayor of the municipality, Komane Koalane, says one of the employees who work in the administration office tested for the virus last week and his results came back positive over the weekend. He states that the offices have been closed for decontamination and will be reopened on Wednesday. He says, however, service delivery will continue as usual as this closure does not affect it. OFM News previously reported that the municipality’s main offices in Ficksburg were closed after an employee tested positive last week. To date, at least 18 employees of this municipality have tested positive for the virus and recovered.
Komane states that in case of emergencies the community may contact him, or the acting municipal manager, or the media liaison officer. He further urges the community to be patient.
