The trio were arrested yesterday by the police in Kuruman following a tip-off that they were planning to commit an armed business robbery.

Provincial police spokesperson, Mohale Ramatseba, in a statement says the trio was arrested at a fuel station at Kagung.

Police seized three unlicensed firearms, 39 live rounds of ammunition, and a VW Polo Vivo they were travelling in.

He says the suspects have been on the police's wanted list for some time now for various other crimes.

"The Acting Provincial Commissioner of the Northern Cape, Major General Phiwe Mnguni, has applauded members prompt intervention," he added.

Police investigations continue.
