Facebook post leads to police discovery | News Article

Police in Bloemfontein who were responding to a Facebook post discovered a victim of assault in the Heidedal cemetery on Wednesday.

Local resident, Gaston Grobler, asked for help by posting on the Heidedal Facebook page called “Enough is Enough”. His post asked for help as the police were allegedly struggling to get an ambulance to the cemetery.

The victim was later identified as a 19-year-old male who’s body was swollen with bruises and his left eye bleeding. It is not clear how he got injured as he can’t speak at the moment, according to Free State police spokesperson, Motantsi Makhele.

The victim was referred to a local hospital in Bloemfontein for treatment as the investigation continues.
