The 42-year-old Jacobus Visser, who is accused of killing his parents and sibling in Bloemfontein in the Free State is expected to apply for bail in the Bloemfontein Magistrate's Court on Thursday.

This is his second appearance after the case was postponed last week for the verification of information that might determine whether he is eligible for bail or not.  He was arrested for the murder of his 68-year-old father, Johan; 65-year-old mother, Maggariet, and 40-year-old brother, Lewis Visser, at his house in Raymond Mhlaba Street in Bloemfontein last week.

Police spokesperson, Brig. Motantsi Makhele, confirmed that their bodies were found in the bedrooms with gunshot wounds to the head.

He further explained the revolver allegedly used in the shooting was found placed on top of Maggariet's body.

OFM News reported that the National Prosecution Authority's (NPA) provincial spokesperson, Phaladi Shuping, said the court needed to verify information - including records of whether he had previous convictions or pending cases.

He said that following the verification of this information the court will decide if he is eligible for bail.
