Police spokesperson, Motantsi Makhele, confirms that no suspects have been arrested. He says the situation in the said community is tense and is being monitored.

This follows after the body of nine-year-old Bokamoso Mesi, who has been missing since 1 September, was found on Saturday.

Makhele adds Bokamoso's body was discovered after children, who were playing in the street, informed community members of a bad smell coming from a shack not far from the missing girl's home.

It is further reported that the nine-your-old girl's body was found inside a wardrobe in a shack allegedly belonging to the now-deceased alleged suspect. The police were then alerted about the discovery.

Makhele adds that the owner of the shack was attacked by angry community members. He says police tried to intervene but were also attacked. The police ultimately managed to apprehend the owner from the attack but he was later declared dead by emergency medical services.
