Alleged child rapist appears in court─── 07:17 Wed, 16 Sep 2020
A 31-year-old man has appeared in the Brits Magistrate's Court in North West in connection with the alleged rape of a 13-year-old boy.
The suspect’s court appearance followed his arrest on Sunday.
According to North West police spokesperson, Adéle Myburgh, the victim confided in his mother that the incidents had been occurring since December 2019, and that the suspect had threatened to kill him if he told anyone.
This led the victim’s mother to report the matter to the police.
The suspect will remain in custody until his second court appearance next Tuesday.
