Service delivery protest rocks NW village─── MARVIN NTSANE 13:31 Thu, 17 Sep 2020
A service delivery protest continues in the village of Dinokana in Lehurutshe near Zeerust in the North West.
This as the N4 road was blocked with burning tyres, rocks, and tree branches on Thursday morning. The provincial police spokesperson, Adéle Myburgh, confirms that this ongoing protest started earlier this week. She says the police are currently present on the scene and are trying to negotiate with the residents.
She adds that It is believed that the concerns of the residents include the provision of water.
Myburgh emphasises that the people who are participating in this protest are mostly children. She states that no arrests have been made and a case of public violence is under investigation.
