Police spokesperson, Motantsi Makhele, says they are investigating a house robbery in Sasolburg after the couple, aged 72 and 73, were allegedly assaulted and robbed by an employee on Tuesday afternoon.

The couple, upon arrival at their home, met one of their employees, 27-year-old Themba Khumalo, in their yard when he forced himself through the kitchen door and stabbed and assaulted the victims with a braai fork. Khumalo fled with a bag containing R70 000 in cash says Makhele. The investigation continues.

Makhele urges anyone with information about the whereabouts of the suspect to contact the police.
