No arrest yet after protester's murder─── LUCKY NKUYANE 10:28 Fri, 25 Sep 2020
The North West police are yet to make an arrest after the murder of an alleged protester whose body was discovered in Brakspruit between Klerksdorp and Ventersdorp in August.
It's been at least a month since the body of the deceased was found at the scene of the protest.
Police spokesperson, Adéle Myburgh, confirms to OFM News that the investigation into the alleged murder of the deceased, who was estimated to be between the ages of 20 and 25 years old, still continues. Despite the confirmation that the investigation is continuing, Myburgh did not indicate if arrests are imminent. Myburgh earlier in August said the man who was found dead at the scene of the protests sustained bullet wounds.
She further said the cause of death could not be confirmed owing to the ongoing investigations.
It's understood that residents took to the streets and barricaded the R15 road where protesters allegedly later set a field alight following the arrest of two men aged 63 and 37, who were arrested for assault and malicious damage to property.
