The South African Weather Services spokesperson in Bloemfontein, Quinton Jacobs, says all parts of the Free State and North West will see sporadic rainfall from Wednesday afternoon until Thursday night. He states that in the Northern Cape rainfall can also be expected from Thursday to Friday.

Jacobs adds that snowfall is expected in the Karoo and southern parts of the Northern Cape. He explains that cool temperatures are occurring because it is now the transition period between winter and summer in the country. He further confirms that temperatures will return to normal over the weekend.
