Six suspects arrested for mob murders in NW | News Article

Six suspects were arrested and appeared in the Itsoseng Magistrate's Court in North West on separate charges of murder, says police spokesperson, Sabata Mokgwabone.

This followed after the police were summoned to the Bodibe Village in North West where the victim, Lebogang Kgoane, was found severely assaulted, lying in the road. Kgoane was taken to a hospital where he died the following day. Following investigations into this first incident, the suspects - Rebecca Mokoto (55), Letlhogonolo Mokoto (18), Moses Ntekele (23), and Aobakwe Potso (20) - were arrested. They will appear in court again on 6 October 2020 for a formal bail application.

In a separate incident of mob justice in Itsoseng, Seipei Modisakeng (42) and Labius Mooketsi (36) will reappear in court on 28 October 2020, following both suspects being granted R1000 bail upon appearance in the Local Magistrate's Court on 18 September 2020. The accused were arrested for the alleged murder of Seun Motlana (22).

According to Mokgwabone, police were summoned to the Bodibe Clinic earlier this month where Motlana was found dead. Further investigations revealed that Motlana was transported to the clinic by an unknown man who was driving in a blue vehicle. A case of murder was opened leading to the arrest of the accused.
