The provincial police spokesperson, Adéle Myburgh, says the 32-year-old suspect allegedly had an argument with his 27-year-old brother and shot him. She adds that the firearm that was used allegedly belongs to their father. Myburgh says the police are also investigating charges related to the Firearms Control Act.

The motive of the incident is yet to be determined and the suspect is expected to appear in the Klerksdorp Magistrates’ Court on Monday 5 October 2020 on a charge of murder.
