This, after the school has been without electricity for months and learners in its hostel were the worst affected.

OFM News last week reported that the school has been unable to settle its outstanding account with Eskom, resulting in electricity being cut at the school.

Departmental spokesperson, Geoffrey van der Merwe, in response to OFM News' inquiry last week, said the department was aware of the unfortunate situation and that the district office has been engaging with the school to address the financial situation.

He now confirms talks regarding the situation at the school are still underway, and he will soon provide OFM News with an update on the matter.

Meanwhile, learners at the school had to find alternative accommodation - with many of the Grade 12s housed by community members.
