The 28-year-old Masithembe Ngovela, also known as Sarita, was rearrested on Thursday by the Bloemfontein Tactical Response Team in collaboration with the Provincial Organised Crime Unit. According to police spokesperson, Motantsi Makhele, Ngovela is facing two counts of murder after he and his gang members allegedly attacked and murdered two teenagers in Mafora Section in Mangaung in 2016.

Makhele adds that the group was arrested and is serving a sentence. However, the case against Ngovela was withdrawn as a result of pending DNA results. He says a warrant of arrest was issued for the suspect after DNA results were received and he has been on the run until his arrest at his mother’s house in Rocklands, Bloemfontein, on Thursday.

Ngovela is expected to appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court tomorrow, along with two accused who are on trial facing the same charges.
