This, after two suspects attacked an elderly couple at their farm in the Hennenman District on October 3.

Police provincial spokesperson, Motantsi Makhele, says the couple was sitting and chatting with their neighbour at their farm when two unknown suspects allegedly entered the farm house and started shooting.

He says a 60-year-old woman was shot twice, as well as her husband - aged 62 - whilst the neighbour escaped unharmed.

Makhele says the suspects then fled the scene with the victim’s cellphones.

The elderly couple was referred to a nearby hospital for treatment.

He confirms a manhunt for suspects was then launched and led to the arrest of the suspect.

Makhele in a statement says the 33-year-old man will face charges of house robbery.

"His friend is still on the run and the investigation continue," Makhele added.
