This, after he was arrested for allegedly dealing in drugs on Tuesday.

Hawks spokesperson, Nomthandazo Mnisi, says their team received information regarding drugs being transported from Johannesburg to Upington on a passenger bus; then launched a search and seizure operation that saw Mandrax tablets with an estimated street value of over R220 000 being confiscated.

The arrest of the 30-year-old suspect followed just days after OFM News reported that the police commissioners in the Northern Cape and the North West sent out a stern warning against drug trafficking in their province.

The warning followed the arrest of two suspects in Rustenburg, after the police discovered an alleged drug laboratory and confiscated drugs worth over R1.5 million; as well as the arrest of a 40-year-old Kimberley man who was arrested in possession of drugs in a luggage bag in Galeshewe.
