Kimberley affected by water cuts─── KATLEHO MORAPELA 06:46 Mon, 26 Oct 2020
The Sol Plaatje Local Municipality in the Northern Cape confirms there will be on-going water supply interruptions due to a burst water pipe.
This, after residents in the province’s capital city, Kimberley, had to brace themselves for a total water shutdown for the past four days.
Municipal spokesperson, Sello Matsie, said this was to enable emergency repairs to water infrastructure on the mainline reservoir.
He, last week, said they anticipated the repairs would only be completed by Saturday afternoon and advised communities to ensure they had adequate water supply stored up.
He confirms this was, however, not the case due to unforeseen delays caused by another pipe burst.
Matsie has further extended the municipality’s apology for any inconvenience caused.
