Former FS MEC calls for more arrests─── LEATILE LEIEE 11:44 Wed, 11 Nov 2020
The former Free State MEC and ANC activist Mxolisi Dukwana expects that justice will take its course with the recent arrests of alleged corrupt government officials.
Dukwana has been advocating the arrest of the ANC's Secretary-General Ace Magashule since he testified against the alleged kingpin with alleged damning evidence that caused an eruption across the nation at the Zondo Commission last year.
The former Free State MEC tells OFM News he is positive that more arrests will follow and he warns the Premier of the Free State, Sisi Ntombela, that officials who are linked to corrupt deals should be removed from their offices whilst investigations are still ongoing. Dukwana took to the streets of Bloemfontein this morning, alongside many ANC supporters, to hand over a memorandum of their grievances to the Premier's Office. It was accepted and signed by premier Sisi Ntombela.
“We felt that the time has come that all the members of the ANC who love the ANC, who care for the ANC - the genuine members of the ANC - must stand up and protect the image and integrity against those involved in malfeasances. This is what we need to do moving forward."
The ANC members, according to the former MEC, do not only expect the officials implicated in the failed R225 million asbestos project to be convicted but also the many officials who reaped the benefits that were meant for emerging businesses.
He concludes that the leasing of government buildings, for example, should be advertised to the public and not to government officials.
