This, as the party is set to hold Lekhu's memorial service on Tuesday at the Bram Fischer Building in Bloemfontein. Lekhu, who has served in various portfolios within the party, succumbed to Covid-19 complications this past weekend.

He leaves behind his wife and two children. He is described by fellow EFF members in the Free State as a selfless leader, who was hard-working and served the party with due diligence.

Many social media users are still taking to Facebook to pass on their condolences ahead of the memorial service set to kick off at noon.
