#ANC top structure in NW─── KATLEHO MORAPELA 06:39 Mon, 23 Nov 2020
The ANC's National Working Committee (NWC), led by national officials including president Cyril Ramaphosa, will on Monday embark on a visit to the North West province.
Ramaphosa, his deputy David Mabuza, and the ANC National Chairperson Gwede Mantashe, amongst other members of the ANC top structure, are expected to meet North West's Regional Executive Committees (REC) and the Provincial Interim Committee (PIC).
The party's spokesperson, Pule Mabe, says the visit forms part of the National Executive Committee’s assessment over the progress made in rebuilding ANC structures in the province.
Following sporadic protests over the resignation of former Premier and ANC Provincial Chairperson, Supra Mahumapelo, the party confirmed that it will need to do more to rebuild and renew itself in the North West.
After the protests in 2018, Ramaphosa placed the entire province under administration stating that more will need to be done to rebuild the ANC and to bring more stability to the province.
He is today expected to engage ANC structures in the province on challenges still plaguing the province.
His visit will come just weeks after a delegate from Parliament bemoaned the financial woes and governance of municipalities in the province stating that many of them need urgent intervention.
