He said while plotting the murder of Siemens, Bakili told him that the deceased was in possession of money that was defrauded from the controversial Vrede Dairy project. 

The multi million rand government project has been making headlines as millions were siphoned off by the controversial Gupta-family, according to the #GuptaLeaks. 

Bloemfontein CityMed Managing Director Louis Siemens was gunned down on 10 May 2018 in the basement parking of Preller Square. Mbebetho is a key witness for the state after he accepted a plea bargain.

Mbebetho said Bakili told him that Siemens refused to sign documents and give him his share of the money. During his testimony, Mbebetho divulged that the plot to kill Siemens took place while en route to the basement parking where they parked next to Siemens' Isuzu Bakkie. 

This after their botched assassination of Bakili's girlfriend, named only as Lindiwe, who was the state witness against Bakili in an unrelated case. 

Mbebetho said Bakili promised him R200 000 for the murder of Siemens. This after he was allegedly promised R80 000 if he could succeed to take out Lindiwe. 

The price went up from R80 000 to R200 000 after he pointing out to Bakili that if he wanted him to kill a "white man" he would need to up the price for the assassination.
