North West #ANC urged to unite─── KATLEHO MORAPELA 09:42 Tue, 24 Nov 2020
The ANC in the North West has been urged to fast track its renewal process and build unity. This, after President Cyril Ramaphosa and ANC Top Six members embarked on a visit to the province on Monday.
Ramaphosa during his engagement with ANC members in Rustenburg called for unity ahead of a provincial conference expected to take place in January next year. Ramaphosa, during his visit, acknowledged governance issues faced in the province and urged members to resolve their issues ahead of their conference and the 2021 Local Government Elections.
OFM News has previously reported that Ramaphosa's visit came just weeks after the National Council of Provinces called for intervention at North West municipalities, stating that the majority of municipalities are still plagued with financial mismanagement and a lack of political governance, amongst others. This is coupled with the more than R314 million loss they incurred when they invested with the now liquidated VBS Mutual Bank.
