#PrellerSquareShooting: Bakili's promises in spotlight | News Article

The self-confessed shooter and killer of Bloemfontein businessman and CityMed Managing Director, Louis Siemens, on Tuesday continued where he left off in his damning testimony in the High Court on Monday.

The state's key witness, Xolisile Botha Mbebetho, who is serving 22-years imprisonment for killing Siemens, has told the court that the murder accused, Stanley Bakili, promised him 'heaven and earth' should he execute Siemens on 10 May 2018.

On his second day of testimony, he says Bakili showed him a huge amount of money while in the company of an unidentified man outside his flat at Lilyvale in Bloemfontein. He says contrary to the agreement, Bakili never kept his word and did not even give him 10 cents after he agreed to be contracted to kill Siemens. Mbebetho adds that after acquiring the services of accused number 4, Mojalefa Jali Molusi, he pledged R80 000 to him and he would keep the rest.

He testified that Bakili put immense pressure on him to execute Siemens at his place of residence but it seems as if the deceased was always one step ahead of them. He says he raised his concerns about Siemens actions because it appeared as if he was alerted by his neighbour. The woman apparently noticed his movements around the area and it raised suspicions with her.

He has further told the court that he was prepared to deal with the consequences if it ever happened that they were caught on cameras.

Bakili joins Molebatsi Mogoera, Kagiso Chabane, Molusi, Moeketsi Lesia, Clive Tshivenga, Karabo Tau and Sizwe Mpati in the dock. They are all between the ages of 29 and 56 and include three police officers, a disbarred advocate, an accused in separate double murder cases, and a military man.
