OFM News' Katleho Morapela reports that large numbers of people started queueing as early as 08:00, waiting for shops to open at 9am as per their normal trading hours.

Whilst shopping complexes and malls are seemingly not as crowded as compared to last year, large groups of people are making their way to different shops.

While a majority of grocery stores at the malls are at this stage relatively empty, liquor stores and baby shops are amongst those where there are long queues of people.

A 32-year-old shopper told OFM News that he is excited bout the specials at a number of retail stores in Bloemfontein as it allows those who have been affected financially by the Covid-19 pandemic to get necessities at lower prices.
