This, as Eskom continues to issue notices clarifying their intentions to implement load reductions in high-density areas to avoid network overloading. 

The power utility says they will implement load reduction to these two districts during morning peak hours in efforts to avoid overloading its network and causing damage to its infrastructure. OFM News last month reported on several occasions how residents in local municipalities, falling under these districts, had to deal with electricity supply interruptions due to restrictions.

The notices for Thursday have once again been issued to the Free State, KwaZulu-Natal, Gauteng and Limpopo. They come just weeks after the power utility in November called on municipalities to pay for its services stating that the R31.5 billion owed to it at the end of August, continues to severely affect its operation.

OFM News has previously reported that of this amount, Free State municipalities collectively owe the power utility over R12 billion.
