Their current project is called “Giving Back December” which takes place on 12 December 2020. Heidedal Unite says the event will be a joint Christmas party for the respective NGO’s children between the ages of 5 and 10 years old. It will take place at a secure park in Opkoms, Bloemfontein, at 10:00.

Due to government regulations, no outside parties will be able to take part in this event, but future collaborations are welcomed, says the organisation. The day’s activities will be posted on the Heidedal Unite’s Facebook Page.

Heidedal Unite, together with OFM News, believes the first step to knowledge is through reading. The aim is to equip children in the community with knowledge through gifting them reading books for Christmas. For more information or book donations, contact Heidedalunite@gmail.com or OFM News' news manager Cathy Dlodlo at cathy@centralmediagroup.co.za.

Dlodlo says OFM News has a book project called “For the love of books”. What this project is focused on is cultivating the love of reading, especially amongst primary school kids. Dlodlo says through this she hopes children will be able to fall in love with books and reading by the time they reach high school.
