Police spokesperson Montantsi Makhele confirmed the incident took place at the farm Korhaanfontein in Smithfield.

The name of the victim was not released by the police, but OFM News established that Poenkie Bissett was found by her husband Arthur. Makhele said Arthuer allegedly left her at the farm.

She told him that she would continue with laundry, and once done, would leave for town. Upon his return to the farm, Arthur found his wife lying beside her vehicle parked next to the house.

The cause of death is unknown.

Bissett sustained a wound to the back of her head, but it’s not clear what caused the injury.

The police investigating team is still on the scene, but according to Makhele it is too early to presume what could have happened. Investigations continue.
