FS opens new school─── KATLEHO MORAPELA 08:23 Tue, 15 Dec 2020
The community of Grassland and Bergman in Mangaung will soon breathe a sigh of relief after Free State Premier, Sisi Ntombela, and Education MEC, Tate Makgoe, open a new school in the area - The Glassland Primary School.
Children in this area have for years had to travel long distances to get to schools in neighbouring communities.
The Free State Education Department now confirms the school will accommodate about 1628 learners and will help a great deal in terms of social distancing for the Covid-19 pandemic.
Departmental spokesperson Howard Ndaba in a statement further confirms construction at the school started in 2015, with an amount of over R66 million set aside.
The school is expected to accommodate more the three grade R classes, have a science lab, multipurpose centre and its own library among other necessities.
Ntombela and Makgoe are expected to launch the school from 9 am and engage parents in the area.
