FS: Matric marking preparations underway─── 12:54 Mon, 04 Jan 2021
Howard Ndaba, spokesperson for the Free State Department of Education, says that marking will commence this Wednesday.
The department will meet virtually today with all marking centres across the province to finalize and prepare all logistics ahead of Wednesday.
More than 145,000 markers have been appointed and will be divided between 180 marking centres across the country.
Despite the slightly delayed start, the Free State MEC for Education - Tate Makgoe - confirms a possible visit to a marking centre in Bloemfontein - signalling the official start of the marking process.
Ndaba informs OFM News that the 2020 academic year has been particularly strenuous for both educators and scholars - especially with regard to COVID-19.
The 2020 lockdown period placed back-breaking pressure on educators as time in the classroom was substantially limited.
