The North West Department of Education MEC Mmaphofe Matsemela visited a marking centre in Rustenburg on Wednesday to monitor compliance to the COVID-19 regulations. Matsemela welcomes all officials who have sacrificed their holiday period to participate in such an important process.

To monitor COVID-19 compliance, officials of the Department of Health will visit the 17 marking centres across the province on a daily basis.

She adds that markers are appointed based on 3 years of teaching experience for Grade 12 learners.

Furthermore, she thanks teachers for the sacrifices made during a demanding 2020. She states that she is pleased that COVID-19 regulations are being followed rigidly. The Department of Health is working hand in hand with the Department of Education to monitor compliance at all marking centres.
