Residents of the northern suburbs in Bloemfontein in the cash-strapped Mangaung Municipality in the Free State will have to brace themselves for a water supply interruption.
The municipal spokesperson, Qondile Khedama, in a statement says three areas which include, Tempe, Dan Pienaar and parts of Westdene will experience the disruption of water supply on Friday. He says the interruption will be effected from 11 am until 11 pm at night, lasting about 12 hours. Khedama adds that the interruption is a result of the replacement of a bulk water valve at Tempe.
In 2020, the city's residents also experienced water interruptions. This was due to maintenance, as communicated by the metro, while in some instances it was also due to the non-payment of Bloem Water.
“Mangaung Metro apologises for any inconvenience caused,” Khedama adds.
